28 players called up for SAFF U17 Women's Championship 2023

A total of 28 players have been called up to the initial squad of U-17 national women's team for the SAFF U17 Women's Championship 2023 to be held in Bangladesh from March 20-31.

Head coach Bhagawati Rana Magar, appointed by ANFA for the competition, announced her initial squad on Thursday. Rana had led the U-15 national women's team to the historic title of SAFF U-15 Women's Championship held in Bangladesh.

South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is staging the tournament under the UEFA Assist Programme.

An open selection was organized by ANFA from for five days on January 26, 27, 31 and February 1 and 2 at ANFA Complex to select players for the tournament.

Preliminary squad:

Goalkeepers: Sujata Tamang (Chitwan), Radhika Oli (Dang), Pushpa Rokaya (Kailali), Karuna Budathoki (Bara)

Defenders: Amita Bhul (Kailali), Maya Maske (Syangja), Jhuma Biswakarma (Morang), Biapana Snehi (Kailali), Sita Rokaya (Kailali), Lila Chand (Kailali), Anjana Pun Magar (Dang), Prena Dolma Lama (Sarlahi), Dipa Magar (Udaypur), Simran Rai (Jhapa), Renu Limbu Chabegu (Jhapa)

Midfielders: Rupa Limbu (Morang), Dilamaya Ghising (Bara), Bhawana Pariyar (Syangja), Bikalpa Kumari Chaudhary (Kailali), Sumi Hangma Rai (Saptari), Sukriya Miya (Syangja), Kajal Syangtan (Rautahat), Sushila KC (Chitwan), Punam Chemjong (Panchthar)
