Biratnagar shock Police with 1-0 victory

Biratnagar Metropolitan City (BMC) pulled off a thrilling 1-0 victory against Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the National Women's League match on Wednesday.

Parbati Ghale scored in the ninth minute to shock the departmental team at ANFA Complex.

The victory propels Biratnagar to third on the table with 10 points taking them over NPC. NPC and Waling Municipality Syangja both have eight points each but NPC are above Waling due to better goal difference.

Biratnagar's coach Paras Chaudhary said they are happy to implement their strategy in the game. "My players did exceptionally well. We also implement our strategy well," said Chaudhary.

NPC coach Sanjeev Joshi said his players have not been able to play up to their level leaving them fourth on the table. "We also could not convert our chances. Our title ambitions have taken a great hit," said Joshi.

With the completion of first round of matches on Wednesday, the second round of matches will begin on February 6. Undefeated Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) lie on the top with six wins from as many matches.
