Shree Bhagwati earn second win; RCT and Shree Kumari ends in stalemate

Shree Bhagwati Club (SBC) registered their second win of the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League with 3-2 victory over Jhamsikhel Youth Club (JYC) on Thursday.

An own goal by Sunil Shahi gave the lead for SBC in the 11th minute. JYC levelled through Madan Syangtan in the 32nd. Nawa Raj Gurung restored SBC's lead with the second goal in the 57th minute only for Anish Chaudhary to equalize again in the 74th minute.

Mohan Bahadur Thapa Magar scored six minutes from time to give the victory to SBC.

SBC's coach Sailesh Karmacharya said he was not content with the team's performance despite the victory which took them up to eighth on the table. "Our forwards had a bad day at job as we missed many scoring opportunities. Yes we won but given our performance I would say we were lucky today," said Karmacharya.

JYC's assistant coach Krishna Kumar Thapa said his players lacked fitness in today's match. "Our players were everywhere on the pitch but running without any ideas. There was no coordination among them and it cost us the match," said Thapa.

In the second match of the day, Rani Pokhari Corner Team (RCT) and Shree Kumari Club (SKC) ended in a 1-1 draw.

RCT's Ajit Gurung headed in the first goal in the third minute but Yubaraj Rai found the back of the net in the 22nd to equalize for SKC.

RCT's coach Sulav Jung Rana said they came under pressure after they were reduced to 10 man following two bookable offenses against Sunil Raut Kurmi. "We had scored early in the match. We could have added more goals but our forwards could not reap the chances they were given," said Rana.

SKC's Sandesh Kumar Shrestha said they controlled possession but conceding early goal was a hammer blow to their plan. "We put them under pressure in the first half and were on top after they were reduced to 10 man. But we could not take advantage of the situation," said Shrestha.
