APF move five clear of relegation zone after 1-0 victory over Himalayan Sherpa

Head coach Kumar Thapa said APF Football Club (APF) breathed a sigh of relief after moving five points clear of relegation zone following a 1-0 victory over Nepal Ice Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.

Awas Lamichhane headed in the only goal in the first added minute in the first half. APF had the ball into the net through Aashish Lama just two minutes into the game but was ruled offside.

Thapa said given their points tally and upcoming matches, it was important for them to win today's match. "This win and the points are very vital to us. We can now breathe with relief. Thanks to all the players for delivering in today's game," said Thapa.

HSC's head coach Yugal Kishor Rai said his team played their worst game so far in the league. "We cannot win against a 10th standard school team if we played with the same mentality like today. This easily was the worst game by us so far. There were way too many errors," said Rai.

Manang Marsyangdi Club will play against Satdobato Youth Club in the second match today. The match will begin at 4:45 pm in Dasharath Stadium.
