Friends out of relegation zone after first win; Army and Jawalakhel share points

Friends Club climbed out of the bottom zone after thrashing Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 5-2 while Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) shared points with Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) after a 1-1 draw in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.

In the first match played at Dasharath Stadium, Friends earned their first win of the season with style in the romping of BBC.

Anthony Francois and Sushil Shah both scored twice and Shyam Babu Kyapchhki scored once for Friends in the win. Shah scored their first in the 14th minute before Junior Wamba levelled for BBC in the 25th. Three minutes later, Shyam Babu restored the lead before Francois doubled their advantage in the added minute of first half.

Friends scored two goals in two minutes―first through Francois in the 76th and second through Shah in the 78th minute to make it 5-1. Substitute Anil Gurung pulled one back for BBC to make it 5-2.

Friends climbed to 12th in the table with six points and BBC, also with six points, lost a position and moved to 13th.

In the second match, Suman Aryal scored in the seventh minute of added time to deny all three points for JYC. JYC had taken the lead through Onguna Junior in the 53rd minute and they looked like to secure all three points before TAFC snatched a point through Aryal.

TAFC are unmoved from their third position with 18 points while Jawalakhel are 11th with nine points.

Nepal Police Club and Satdobato Youth Club play in the first match at ANFA Complex. Leaders Machhindra Football Club will take on Chyasal Youth Club in the first match at Dasharath Stadium while Manang Marsyangdi Club take on Three Star Club in the second match at the stadium.
