APF and Sankata ends in goalless stalemate

APF Football Club (APF) played a goalless draw against Sankata Club (SC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Sunday.

APF head coach Kumar Thapa said they couldn't still be content in their battle to escape relegation. "There are still nine points to play for and we cannot be sure about escaping relegation," said Thapa. Thapa said he was happy to continue the unbeaten run but gaining points would have been better for them.

Thapa said he was unhappy with some of the decisions by referee in the match. "I think some decisions were biased and it led to tempers being flared during the match," Thapa said.

APF dominated much of the match but were unable to find the winning goal.

SC's head coach Bishnu Gurung said he was happy with the team's performance. "APF are a good team and they have returned after a victorious Aaha Rara Cup campaign. They scored most of their goals from open play and we were happy to break them down," said Gurung. Gurung said he was satisfied with his players' performance. "We created chances but could not score. I am happy with how my players approached the match against APF," Gurung said.

The 11th round of matches will begin from February 15.
