Three Star miss chance to third after draw with Police

Three Star Club (TSC) drew 1-1 with Nepal Police Club (NPC) and missed chance to go third in the table of the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Wednesday.

Ritik Kumar Khadka scored for TSC in the 21st minute before NPC captain Suman Subedi levelled in the 52nd minute.

A victory would have put TSC above Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) to third place but will now remain in the fourth place with 18 points from 11 games. NPC are 10th with 11 points.

TSC's head coach Urjan Shrestha said his team missed chances at front against the departmental side. "Our attacking front made mistakes. We knew a win would have put us in third place and help us fight for second place. But now we have to wait for the results of other matches for that position," said Shrestha.

NPC's head coach Ananta Raj Thapa said his team had been conceding due to silly mistakes. "Our players lacked maturity which is needed in this league. Clubs have become more professional now. We gave our all yet had to be content with single point," said Thapa.

New Road Team will play Sankata Club in ANFA Complex in the first match on Thursday. The second match will be played between APF Football Club and Manang Marsyangdi Club at Dasharath Stadium. Both the games will kick-off at 1 pm.
